MY PERFUMES mpf AURORA Eau De Parfum is as dark as its name and juice suggest, woody-amber-spicy with a healthy dose of chocolate. AURORA Eau De Parfum has a woody opening dusted with peppery spice. The sandalwood is prominent here, slightly harsh like a roughly-hewn log, paving the way to the main event. As it develops, the chocolate note emerges, more resembling raw cocoa powder than a refined bar. The nose-tingling chilli follows, adding warmth and complementing the cocoa to perfection. It reminds you of encountering fancy chilli-and-chocolate crisps as a child, and being blown away by how well such an unusual combination could work so well. It remains an accord that really works. The spicy sandalwood remains throughout, complemented the chilli-chocolate accord beautifully. Soft, slightly animalic musk blurs the edges as it dries down, and it becomes somewhat leathery in its later stages. Sillage is strong and longevity is good.
